WELCOME TO NETWORK ATLAS

Curiosity is your
only prerequisite.

Explore a miniature network, follow a message, and discover why the internet works.

01

Look around. Drag the model to orbit. Scroll or use + / − to zoom. Click a device or its label to inspect it.

02

Follow the story. Start the journey, pause anywhere, or select a step. Watch a DNS lookup, connection setup and an HTTPS exchange.

03

Go a layer deeper. Open Packet Lab to unpack a message, then try three troubleshooting challenges.

This is a teaching model, not a network emulator. Timing is illustrative. The internet is represented by a simplified route. Ethernet frames change at routed hops; HTTPS data is encrypted in transit. This example assumes a configured network, an empty DNS cache and HTTPS over TCP. It omits ARP, DHCP and retransmissions from the animation.
